May, 2010. A new home in Redmond, Washington. I decide to transform my life and rejuvenate my health, to rebuild my physical and emotional strength, to find balance in mind, body and spirit, to create order in my environment -- in short, to begin anew in a new place. This is my journey.

The Patch -- Day Six
I don't even notice a desire for cigarettes any more, but I'm wondering if my achy body is from the patch. I've been wearing it on my upper arms, and those arms have been achy all week. So today I moved it to my lower back. I also went to the hot tub today, hoping that would help. I do feel better, but one never knows why.

Medication-Free!
Last September, 2009 or so, I seriously reduced some of my medications. When I moved to Redmond, I stopped taking the rest. The only meds I take -- besides insulin -- are over-the-counter pain killers (aspirin and ibuprofen). I take no prescription medications other than insulin. I can't say my life is perfect, but I'm doing just fine. The best thing is that people react to me much more positively. My body is a little achy, but I feel considerably better than I did when I was taking all that stuff. I am actively looking into ways to solve the achiness problems (yoga?). The only value on my labs that is not perfect is the cholesterol level, which is 117 -- slightly elevated -- but I think there might be natural ways to solve that too.

Good but Achy
I feel good today -- no dizziness (well, that seems to have stopped when I walked off the plane, oddly). I am achy though -- my legs, seat and neck. I realized this morning that this achiness isn't necessarily new, it's just that I haven't downed any ibuprofin to get rid of it, so I don't necessarily know how long this has been going on. Guess I should buy some ibuprofin. Off to the grocery list on my Google phone...
